“The beast from the east”, as the BBC named the five-day period of bitterly cold winds and snowstorms which caused mayhem in late February/March 2018, didn’t miss Little Plumstead as you see in these pictures. It shows the Salhouse Road between School Road and Post Office Road. If anyone has pictures of the village taken in the previous worst winters of 1947 and 1963 please email them to email@example.com to stir more memories on this site.
About this site
The idea of this website is to invoke memories of living in this Norfolk village in the mid-1900s. With the help of others who I hope will email me their own stories of people and events from that time we can build a useful historic snapshot of one particular era for future generations. I'll begin with my own memories of the local school.
